Catherine Wallace, who has been handling all our Meet-Up communications for several years, has offered to be our new Communications Chair. Liz will continue to assist with special events communications from time to time. We thank Cath for stepping up to volunteer for this important role

Here is a Summary of 2017 Year in Review

Golfing opportunities – This past year during the week we offered golf at Deer Creek on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons. The golf on Tuesdays was for players who wanted to play 18 holes with a $5 handicapped game. Thursdays was 9 holes of play with no required game, followed by socializing and food. For our competitive players, we exceeded the number of participants from last year’s Chapter Championship and were able to underwrite the registration fees with an online auction. We also sent 5 teams of 40 players to the EWGA Cup Qualifier, with 2 teams advancing to the National Cup Competition in Daytona Beach.

Charitable Donations - Our annual Tournament for a Cure was held at Deer Creek and raised $9.700 for the Memorial Foundation and their Women’s Imaging Center of Broward County.  Our December holiday golf and party benefited the First Tee, with monetary gifts as well as used golf equipment.  We also sponsored Girls Golf with a money donation.

New/Returning Sponsors - We were pleased to add several new cash Sponsors this past year – Independent Financial Group, US Health Advisors, Kaylor International Realty, and City Furniture. We also are especially pleased that the following sponsors renewed their support for 2017-18: Luana Corral, CPF; Linda Davis, Atty, Jess Frank Golf Academy, Spirit Airlines-Laurie Villa, Pop's Fish Market, JB's on the Beach, Casa Maya, ChrisCzaja PGA Pro, and Laird International.

Upcoming Plans for 2018 - The new Board of Directors are currently working to put together several new golfing and social events for this year.  Look for these in the newsletter and feel free to contact me if you wish to provide suggestions or ideas for next year at President@ewgafortlauderdale.com
